Metal Core PCB FAQ
What is the difference between aluminum MCPCB and copper core PCB?
Aluminum MCPCB is the most common and cost-effective option with thermal conductivity around 150 W/mK. Copper core PCB offers superior thermal conductivity (400 W/mK) and is used for high-power applications where maximum heat dissipation is critical.
What thermal conductivity do I need for LED applications?
For general LED lighting applications, 1.0-1.5 W/mK dielectric is sufficient. For high-power LEDs or designs requiring operation in elevated ambient temperatures, 2.0-3.0 W/mK dielectric is recommended.
